Amazon.com Product Description He's tanned. He's rested. He's on steroids. And he's mad! His vacation was just interrupted by more alien invaders. Finish them off once and for all and battle the queen alien boss in this better-than-Duke Atomic Edition. It's complete with aliens, strippers, steroids, adult language, humor, and violence.

Be Very Wary of Amazon Merchants Selling this game February 28, 2009 MacBoomer (Ohio) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered and received a DOS only version of this game from the Amazon Merchants link (contrary to it being described as Mac and Windows compatible) -- after returning the game (still waiting for a refund) I queried the other listed Amazon Merchants about it being Mac Compatible. All of them eventually responded saying either it wasn't a Mac version, that they didn't know, but thought it wasn't, or didn't know and said return it if it isn't.
This seems pretty irresponsible to me -- the description CLEARLY indicates the software system requirements. To knowingly sell something that doesn't match the description (in this case it becomes useless to the buyer) and leave the burden of proof to the buyer to go through the hassle of purchasing and then returning the item for a refund (minus shipping of course!) is outrageous.
So...be very wary of buying software from an Amazon Merchant unless they (the Merchant) explicitly states the exact version and system compatibility of the exact software he's selling. You absolutely cannot trust the Amazon description when buying from Amazon Merchants in the Amazon Marketplace.
Spiffing Fun February 4, 2009 Pastor of Disaster (Wexford, Ireland) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I remember when Mr Nukem and I first became acquainted, it must have been around 10 years ago, and we spent many happy hours shooting and generally blowing things up, you see it was in the days of the last century and everything was simpler then, no multi layered game play with millions of impossible hidden missions and hidden fiddly bits, just good old fashioned shooting and blowing up, allied with some humour. I actually finished the game, I recall some sort of large monster chappie and I had to hide in a bath and blat him until much to my surprise, he died.
I also remember some vexatious creature on a football field that was difficult in the extreme to eliminate. I'm now 40 and would love to dig old Duke out again for another go. Alas, the box containing the game is somewhere in the loft and my loft looks like the final scene in the first Indiana Jones film when they put the Ark of the Covenant in a box and store it in a big warehouse full of other boxes. Well, it's a big like that which is a bit of a bugger. Anyway, where was I? Ah yes, for us older gamers, its manageable gaming and fun. (The game, not my loft which is not manageable or fun!)
I love grand theft auto but I will never, as a family man and not the most nimble fingered, ever have the time or skill to devote to completing even the Liberty City one, never mind vice City or the others, but Duke is just more manageable and humorous. Maybe, I should get in the loft again.
Oh, and this game is so old, no-one will ever read this review. So I don't know why I am writing it. Mind you, the missus might be taking the baby to Dublin for a couple of days tomorrow which might give me time to get in the loft and find the game! Praise be!
Must be the same as total meltdown October 29, 2007 Jake (Dubuque, IA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I havn't really played this yet. but i was thinking about getting it. But what i really don't see is how people love this game but hate Duke Nukem Total Meltdown for playstation. It's the same thing. I know the graphics and every thing are kind of corny, but it still is fun to play. And thats what videogames are for. Im just saying that you guys should try it
good game and has replay value. August 13, 2006 rusty (zombie-slayer) (Classified) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
i admit duke 3d was a good game, but after playing it three times theres really not much to give it any more runs. the game compared to todays games has no story or plot. you basically run around level by level shooting aliens and collecting key cards (not like doom, because doom features demons and hell}. but what makes it different is that it has a lot of sexuallity in it and humor for kids to laugh by.
