Product Description Starting programming in C, and especially in C++, is a challenge. This course offers highly detailed explanations, clear illustrated examples, and hands-on experience. The CD contains training materials in PDF format, lessons, programming examples and references to additional programming tools. The two DVDs include a complete installation of a full set of development tools including the two most popular, Ubuntu and Fedora Linux. This set allows you to learn from the course and evaluate real, advanced operating system code such as that in Linux! Starting from scratch, the course takes a complete newbie into professional workflow. < br>
By the end of the first course, you will be in full command of C programming language and completely prepared for a professional programming routine. The second course takes on C++ as an extension of C and introduces the full spectrum of tools and methods. There is no other course that deals with C/C++ training with such effectiveness and precision. The set was carefully distilled from the best OSF by top-ranking IT professionals. This course requires work, diligence and perseverance. This course teaches with a traditional step-by-step approach. Each lesson builds upon knowledge acquired from previous lessons. This course does not stop with the basics, but gradually takes the complete beginner into professional-level programming.

| Customer Reviews: Gotta be kidding July 27, 2010 R. L. Hodges (Layton, UT, United States) I ordered this product as well as the one for Java. Very disappointed.
Both contain material that is freely available on the Internet.
The Java package contains 4 or 5 disks, 3 of which are all about Linux (including an outdated version of Ubuntu) not Java.
Beware, this vendor is releasing freely available public domain programming information and software (outdated too) and charging money for it.
Both were a waste of money, now collecting dust.
Why pay for free software and outdated manuals? July 6, 2010 Thomas M. Greiner (La Crosse, WI USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The package contains 3 disks. One disk contains two PDF versions of programming books, one on C and one on C++. So far, so good. Problem is, I usually find it difficult to read a PDF (a manual) and modify a file (computer code) on the same computer screen. It's possible. It's just not very user friendly this way.
The other two disks each contain a version of the Linux operating system. One disk is Fedora, the other is Ubuntu. Both of these operating systems, and everything else on their disks, can be downloaded for free. And, since they are two different versions of Linux, you really cannot use both at the same time.
So, what are you getting for your money. Two PDFs of old books on computer programming, and Two operating systems that you could get for free. I expected there to be some type of programming tool that is unique to this product. But no. Everything on the operating system DVDs are available free off the web.
There is no other instruction included. If you are so much of a beginner that you do not know how to download programs off the web (which is what the two Linux systems are), then you probably don't know how to install the Linux operating systems, don't know that you should not install both, and don't know how to access the PDF books on the CDs. If you know how to do these things, then you should not be buying this product.
In short, this is a rip-off (pun intended) that has little value for most users.
Right set for me December 10, 2009 Karine Fortland (Winter Park, CO) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
My story with C++ began a year ago, when I've decided to switch from PC to Linux. I discovered some interesting interfaces and told myself "why not!". And it was a good move for me. I've red a lot about the system and eventually got this set. What can I say? I spent my money for the right product. Worth every dollar I've spent for this set.
Great set, nice idea, productive training July 8, 2009 Alex Vox (Winnetka, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This set is very practical. One disk contains PDF training (which is really awesome) and full set of tools. I made it to the middle of first part (C) and I can say that I can do pretty cool things already. It requires a lot of work (to be expected by C/C++ student) but the results are apparent. Great, thanks!
