Product Description
This Wifi b/g wireless moonlight night vision IP camera has its own built in web server. You can view the video from your own local area network or you can configure your router to view and control the camera from computers or cellphones on the internet, without dependence on any third party web sites or subscriptions. With the built-in microphone you can listen in. Excellent MPEG4 video quality at a full 640 x 480 resolution with up to 30 frames per second for fluid, natural motion color. For viewing or recording a single camera no software is required besides just your browser. For viewing or recording multiple Sharx IP cameras the included MultiView software supports up to 4 Sharx IP cameras simultaneously. Truly amazing to see the streaming video on your web enabled cell phone. For frequent use we recommend to upgrade your cellphone service to unlimited data, which costs just $15/mo extra on the ATT network. You can see motion even on non-3G phones like SonyEricsson w580i. If your phone does not support video you can see automatically refreshing JPEG images. At home, you can use this camera with your laptop or iPhone as a baby or pet monitor, and the very high light sensitivity in "moonlight mode" allows you to view out from a window to see what's happening in the street as long as there is some background light available. For night vision in absolute, total darkness with no visible light, upgrade to SCNC2607 which adds infrared night vision and a higher quality, wide angle lens. If you need bi-directional audio to talk back in addition to listening, consider the SCNC2601 and SCNC2602W models. Wireless operation supports WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption.

5 out of 5 stars This Camera is Fantastic!   August 29, 2010
Lathe Haynes (Pittsburgh, PA USA)
I bought this camera as a camera for a weekend house. The camera works flawlessly and has many more features than I had expected. After set up on the wireless mode, the camera can be put anywhere in the house and routes through my Apple Extreme router. The instructions for setting it up with an Apple Extreme are step-by-step and flawless (there are also instructions Windows and other routers). When I needed assistance, the email customer support was quick and informative. When I needed more detailed help, I got phone help from one of the Sharx team who was very helpful and got the diagnosed the problem (my mistake) in a matter of minutes and then spent the time to tell me more of the features I would probably want to use. Overall, it probably took me less than an hour to set up the camera and begin to get familiar with it. Since then I've played around with other features and am discovering more of it's capabilities. Besides the wireless mode, another feature that I've tried is remote viewing from anywhere there is the internet (hence almost everywhere in the world). I also bought a Micro-SD card (highly recommended) for the camera (14.99 for 4GB) and like the ability of the camera to record pics onto the card either motion activated (loads of choices there also) or at regular intervals. These pics can also be remotely viewed. I also like the email feature that emails pics (again in my case motion activated) to an email account, again with loads of choices regarding how many, how many frames per second, etc. so as to not get thousands of pics on your email (I set up a gmail account specifically for this purpose; Sharx gives specific directions for setting it up in gmail so it will work, and it did the first time. So far these are the features that I've set up; and another awesome thing is you can use these features simultaneously, e.g., have it record on the micro-SD card and email, etc. The user guide has great directions for setting up this camera, including suggestions about what you might want to do when just starting out and what is more advanced, and as I said before, the email support was fast and great, and the telephone support was top notch (even though I only needed to use it once). This camera exceeds my expectations, so much so that I'm going to get another for the outside of the property and maybe even another (the night vision one) for inside; after the initial setup adding cameras seems even easier. BTW, the picture is sharp and clear, and you can use this camera as a digital video recorder (DVR) with the micro chip! All the materials, style, documentation and workmanship demonstrate that a lot of thought has been put into this camera, its functions and the users.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent camera and exemplary customer service from Sharx   August 24, 2010

I now own two of these cameras plus the relatively new SCNC3605. The cameras are incredibly reliable and once you get comfortable with the firmware very versatile. The picture quality is good, even in low light and the ability to view from any 3G phone or web browser is fantastic - I travel internationally most of the year and really appreciate the fact that I can have a window back to home at any time. The original manual was kind of hard to follow for the "uninitiated" but the customer service is exceptional. Any query is not too difficult to answer and will typically be answered within the hour, sometimes minutes. For the price, you also can't go wrong.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent product, excellent support...you want the best you found it   August 21, 2010

I have been looking for a nice wireless camera to monitor a room in our house, and I stumbled on this camera by accident. Man am I glad I did; after reading a few of the Amazon reviews I placed my order, and received it quickly. Setup wasn't cake, but I wouldn't say it was difficult either. Because I was not familiar with the product or process it took me a while to go through all the settings, but that's because this camera is so feature-rich.

Others have detailed the features and highlights of this camera, so I won't go into that detail. I will say that the camera does what it should perfectly. I love the fact that I can log into a website and see my camera feed in real-time; after setting it up, we left for the weekend to visit the parents. I logged into the website to show them how it works and they were very impressed.

I already have plans to add a couple of the SCNC2607 cameras for the infrared capabilities, and a couple more of the SCNC2606. I do wish there was a pan/tilt/zoom feature; I know one of their models used to offer this, but can't seem to find it for sale. Anyway, great camera with a great picture and super features...what else do you need?

5 out of 5 stars Great camera for home wireless use   July 20, 2010
Luis G. Martinez (New York, NY)
My wife and I bought this camera to use initially as a nanny cam and then simply as a way to look and listen in on our son now that we are both back to work and miss him terribly. So far the camera has been great. It offers a very clear picture and really excellent sound. We are able to hear what's happening around the whole apartment. The manual made setting up the camera as simple as it can be which is still a bit complicated. But if you follow the step by step process you should not have a problem. Now we can both look in through our smartphones and have our very own website with a live stream of our apartment. Can't ask for much else. We can also record to the computer or record to a memory card but we don't use that feature much. All in all with are VERY satisfied with this purchase. Look into all the amazon vendors (including Sharx Security themselves) for the best price.

5 out of 5 stars So far so GREAT!   June 17, 2010

Very nice. Installation was a breeze. I am techie though, so I knew what to expect. This thing works great. I especially love being able to view on the Touch Pro 2 phones. Great piece of security equipment.
